Mike at the beautiful Tsunami MemorialKamala Beach, Phucket.

A typical Thai family going around their business on their scooter, we saw up to five family members on one scooter. Sadly and accident and mortality rate is high and they dont have to wear helmets, and no restriction on how many people can go on a scooter at one time.

The amazing view from our room.

Aquamarine Hotel near Kamala Beach, it was beautiful but a bit far from nearest town, and the local beach was not swimable.

This is where the famous film The Beach with Brad Pitt was filmed.

Aloe Steam Train Ride

ALOE STEAM FESTIVAL

The Aloe Steam Festival is in Creighton on the 11th & 12th July. The Aloe Steam Train is a 2 hour return trip with Aloe viewing along the way. The train makes two stops, at the first we were allowed to walk amongst the Aloes for some of these amazing photos shots. It was an unforgetable experience. At Riverside station we listened to a local choir entertain us while the train prepared for the return journey. The locomotive "Eshayamoya" is a beautiful restored locomotive that was built in 1939. My sister in law Libby and her daughter Julia, our friend Gordon and fiancee Michael and myself decided to do this little trip into the country to do this nostalgic trip. I must say the only down side was the nearly two hour car journey down windey roads up and down mountain passes to get to the beautiful village of Creighton.

Picnic at Botanic Gardens

I decided that seeing today was a public holiday that we should really take the day off and rest in the beautiful setting of the Botanic Gardens in Durban. The weather this morning in Pinetown was terrible with really strong winds, we had faith and drove to Durban anyway to find the weather beautiful. We had a really big crowd and I think a good time was had by all.

Julia & Britney at the beach

I really enjoyed creating this for Julia. I was with Libby when she took these photos and it was just such a pleasure watching Julia and Britney frolicking on the beach.

This was done using Photoshop's Clipping Mask.

Sunshine and sunflowers

We live in Pinetown and at the moment these "sunflowers" are growing wild in abundance all over the place.
Michael has always said that I was his ray of sunshine. We are getting married in August and we are using sunflowers as our theme so we decided to make the most of Gods magnificient abudance of these lovely flowers and take some photos we could use for the wedding in some way.
